Waterloo Uncovered supports service personnel and veterans from Britain and other European countries, who have recently suffered from the trauma of war. We take them to explore the stories of the past with trips to significant un‐excavated battle sites, such as our recent digs at Hougoumont Farm in Belgium – the farmhouse defended by the Coldstream Guards from Napoleon’s advancing army in June 1815.
They live on‐site for weeks at a time, joining professional archeological teams to find, excavate, and catalogue artefacts that would otherwise be lost forever. The camaraderie and sense of achievement helps our service personnel and veterans find peace from the trauma of war, giving them renewed focus, fulfilment, and positive stories to take home with them.
