We delivered our first “virtual” programme in 2020 in response to the COVID pandemic, so we could continue to support beneficiaries at a time when many who felt the profound effects of loneliness and isolation.
The programme focused on many aspects of the Battle of Waterloo, both the history and archaeology. Beneficiaries learnt archaeological skills and techniques, as well as joining virtual museum trips, including a behind the scenes preview of the collections at the British Museum with its curators.
The programme encouraged beneficiaries to use mindful techniques and engage with archaeology with a strong emphasis on wellbeing.
